20 years ago Scott became fascinated with wine and, as with everything Scott becomes fascinated with, it soon became all consuming. After spending nearly every night for the next 3 years reading about wine, contacting winemakers, visiting wineries and wine stores, and then working short stints in wine retail and then a wine and general storage business, Scott set up Wineaway – a business dedicated to the preservation and enjoyment of fine wine.

Wineaway is essentially Scott’s life work, something he has been passionately dedicated to for the past (almost) two decades. The business has operated with one overarching value throughout the years and that is to ‘do unto others (and their wine) as you would have them do unto you’. The journey has been long and there have been many barriers, but to this day the philosophy has never been compromised, and never will be, and it is the essential ingredient to Wineaway’s success.

Sarah’s years of study (Anthropology, History and a subsequent Masters in Film) are a far cry from the wine industry but, throughout those years, Sarah often supported herself through hospitality work, developing a keen interest in all things wine related. This interest led her to explore many of Australia’s wine regions, and those abroad where possible.

In the end, the lure of fine wine won her over. Sarah spent three years managing an independent bottle shop in inner city Brisbane. It was here that Sarah truly explored her passion for wine, established her marketing skills, and learned the value of customer relationships.

Sarah joined the Wineaway team in September 2016, managing consumer retail and marketing, while also overseeing the financial and event planning side of the business.

Sarah is studying Italian, has a weakness for Nebbiolo, and is rather enamoured with McLaren Vale.

Although Jamie has been involved in the hospitality industry since 1996, it was a honeymoon spent in South Australia’s vineyards in 2002 that would change his career path and ignite a passion that only grows with every glass of liquid gold to pass his lips.

Quickly resigning from the ‘pub job’ he was fortunate enough to work for various Fine Wine retailers in Brisbane, including the Grape at Indooroopilly and New Farm, learning and absorbing from some of the best in the business.  As with most in the wine trade, an opportunity to work on the wholesaling side of the industry presented itself in 2008 with the highly regarded distributor Red+White,  where his friendly demeanour, can-do attitude, professional ethical dealings and global wine knowledge were valued by many of his clients.

Jamie joins the Wineaway team to spearhead the Trade sales channel, bringing on board his wealth of knowledge of the wine business.

Brad’s passion for food began his journey into what has now been a 30year career, starting with an 11year tenure at the Sheraton Mirage Gold Coast & Sheraton on the Park Sydney.

Brad’s greatest challenges and achievements came when he opened his first private venture in 1999. Circa Restaurant in Brisbane perched itself in the top echelon of venues Nationally throughout its 7year lifespan and was awarded the coveted Qld Restaurant of the Year award in 2001 & 2002. Sadly, the Historical building was flattened in favour of progress. This lead Brad to open his second venture in 2006. Era Bistro in South Brisbane comprised a modern Australian Restaurant, Function Rooms, Café, Tapas Bar and Retail Bottle shop which is where his passion for wine was truly enriched.

Brad joined Scott at Wineaway in May 2015 strengthening and developing our trade network, and has now transitioned to a role dealing with global key accounts. He is a doting Father of two beautiful daughters and loves his

Chris is a born and bred local Brisbane boy who discovered his passion for wine at an early age. Starting on his vinous journey back in 1992, Chris joined The Brisbane Club as a hospitality trainee before taking up a position in the club cellar.

After 23 years in this industry and being the Cellar Manager in control of one of the best wine cellars in the country, Chris ensured The Brisbane Club became famous for their wine list being awarded the Gourmet Traveller WINE, “Best Club Wine List” in Australia for 2010, 2011 & 2012 before being inducted into the “Hall of Fame” in 2013.

Chris also pioneered the area of Wine Events at The Brisbane Club and established a program that delivered tastings, lunches, dinners, master classes & wine appreciation events that would rival any establishments in the country.

Chris joined Wineaway in April 2016 as Cellar Manager, but has since transitioned to a unique new role working directly with clients to catalogue, evaluate, and

After 10 years of globe trotting, Tracey has settled back in Brisbane and is 'taking care of business' as the director's PA.

Her travels have spanned far and wide, with her love of wine beginning in Central Otago. This love subsequently grew throughout years of managing restaurants across the globe. The most recent, a Michelin starred restaurant in the UK where she began her WSET journey, delving deeper into understanding the fascinating world of wine.

Bringing enthusiasm from the vibrant hospitality industry, Tracey has settled into Wineaway as the cheerful mother hen. She has a hand in organising Wineaway events too, so get in touch if you'd like her to bring your party idea to life.
