Champagne Devaux

Champagne Devaux (est. 1846) is the leading producer from the Côte Des Bar region in Champagnes south region where over 50% of all Pinot Noir in Champagne is sourced for Houses including Krug. Due to its proximity to Dijon, Pinot Noir is King in the Côte Des Bar and the variety dominates many of the Cuvées (Devaux refers to this as the backbone of the House). The D collection is the principle range & showcases Devaux’s dedication to long ageing before release, with a minimum of 5 years on lees for the NV range & 10 years for the Vintage Cuvée.

Devaux age most of their reserve wines in oak barrels of different sizes, toasts and ages, which all sourced locally to minimise environmental impact. Intelligent use of oak in Devaux’s wines led Eric Label, Chef de Cave of Krug, to refer to Devaux as “the Krug of the Côte des Bar”.
