Tasting Notes

Tasted out of barrel at the Domaine. Sulphur added in the last two weeks. The nose is well defined, good fruit concentration here although it demands some coaxing at the moment. Wild hedgerow, wild strawberry, raspberry and a touch of damp earth. Orange-blossom developing with aeration. The palate has a slightly chewy entry, hardness that should dissipate with further barrel ageing, although it maintains a firm backbone and rigid structure. Nevertheless the tannins are fine, there is great poise and there is more clarity than the Charmes. Orange peel and apricot on the citrus aftertaste.
