Tasting Notes

Corton-Charlemagne is the only vineyard in Burgundy bearing the name of 2 Emperors. Famous Emperor Charlemagne (Charles the Great) was according to legend, the owner of the vineyard that sits on the hill of Corton. An intense golden glow. On the nose there is subtle blossom, fresh almond and lemon peel following by honey, mixed spice and hints of sandalwood. The palate is majestic, awe inspiring. There is green apple and citrus rind along with a honeyed texture but it is the coiled power and drive in the palate and high pitch acidity that are most noticeable at this stage creating extraordinary length.
