Tasting Notes

Gevrey Chambertin is the most Northern of the great communes of the Côte de Nuits. Sourced from vineyards next to the Premier Cru close to the village of Gevrey-Chambertin. Bright ruby in colour, the aromas are brimming with black cherry, wild blackberry and liquorice. There is subtle oak characters adding intrigue- mild spice, nutmeg and old leather building to damp earth and mushroom character. There is old vine intensity in fruit and firm but integrated tannins that build from a velvety texture.

Sustainable agriculture. Old Vines. Handpicked with strict grape sorting in the vineyard and at the winery. Destemmed. 100% whole bunch. Fermentation for 15 days in stainless steel tank, no pigeage, pumping over twice a day until the end of fermentation. 15 months in oak; 15% new barrel. Bottled unfiltered.
