This is the finest wine I have tasted from Sandro Chia's fairy tale Castello Romitorio. The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is a stunning creation and it excels on any number of levels. The vineyards are now at their full potential and the winemaking team has amassed enough experience under its belt to show greater confidence in terms of its stylistic philosophy. I love the fullness and the generosity of the bouquet, and I relished in tasting those delicious layers of dark berry, spice, dried herb and dark chocolate. The mouthfeel is equally satisfying with opulent richness and impressive flavor persistence. Castello Romitorio has set a new benchmark. Monica Larner
