45 year old vines from cool marne white clay soils at the top of the slope, all destemmed, cold soak then 18 months in 1/3 new barriques. Bramble & dark berry fruit with strong minerality & portion of small millerande berries resulting in a dark & intense wine with longevity.

This possesses one of the most complex noses in the range with its beautiful aromas of violets , earth , plum , dark cherry & exotic tea wisps. There is both excellent verve & richness to the bigger – bodied & more mineral driven flavours that culminate in an austere , serious & strikingly persistent finish. This is also very cleverly built to age & a wine that I would advise for leaving for at least a decade .
