Tasting Notes

The 2009 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru has a rip-roaring bouquet of feisty raspberry coulis, wild strawberry and plum aromas, hints of kirsch and tar emerging with time. Rich but controlled. The palate is very well balanced with a fine line of acidity, quite plump in the mouth with hints of clove and orange zest. There is real depth and group here, a lovely roundness towards the sensual finish with sufficient energy to suggest it will give another decade of drinking pleasure with ease. Tasted at Bistro de l'Hôtel in Beaune. Neal Martin
