Tasting Notes

Healthy dark red. Knockout pungent aromas and flavors of pomegranate, red raspberry, blood orange and high-pitched spices, with the 33% whole-cluster treatment contributing an element of peppery lift. Boasts a nobly fine-grained texture but it's hard to describe this wine as silky owing to its almost painful penetration on the palate. Great éclat and precision here. Finishes with incredible tactile breadth and cut, the wine's rising, palate-saturating flavors of red berries, spices, flowers and minerals blowing past its firm but utterly refined tannins. This dazzling Musigny already displays incredibly heady, complex perfume but will need a decade or more to approach its apogee in bottle. Stephen Tanzer
