Tasting Notes

BVRC38 clone, 10% whole bunches and a natural-yeast fermentation with 10 days on skins. Matured in 5yo 500L French casks. A light, bright crimson purple. Pretty and perfumed with aromas of black cherries, raspberries, strawberries, lilacs, thyme and just a hint of bay leaf. Perfectly weighted, this is simultaneously intense, silky and light on the palate. A gorgeous wine that finishes with bright acidity and very fine, gently chalky tannins. Remarkable to think that a grenache of this quality can be made in the Yarra. Philip Rich for James Halliday
